After my Training Placement

Entry to the roll and other options.

Entry to the roll

After 24 months of training have been completed, the provincial council will schedule a final evaluation, and the approval of your training placement will be presented at a council session.

On approval of your trainee placement, you will receive a training certificate. This document allows you to be entered to the roll.

If you plan to continue to work as an architect, it is a requirement that you be entered to the roll. This is set out in Article 5 of the Act of 26 June 1963, establishing an Order of Architects. Even if you are employed in an architectural firm and will not undertake your own projects for the time being, you must be entered to a roll.

To apply for entry to the roll, you must submit two completed forms (Dutch) to your provincial council:

Removal from the List of Trainees

What if you decide to take your career in a different direction after completing your training? In that case, you must apply to be removed from the list of trainees.

The approval of your training placement does not imply automatic removal from the list of trainees. Notify your provincial council of your plans after your training placement.

If you will not be practising as an architect (temporarily), you must apply to be removed from the list by completing and submitting the following document to your provincial council.

Oath on removal from the list of trainees

Your training certificate remains valid indefinitely. Should you decide at any time to work as an architect, you can apply for entry to the roll.
