Commencing My Training

What does your entry to the list of trainees involve? What fee do I pay annually to the Order of Architects?

How do I Enter the List of Trainees?

To start your training you must apply to enter the list of trainees. You must be entered to the list of trainees for the province in which your mentor is registered.

You can begin your training placement at any time after obtaining your diploma. There is no particular deadline for beginning your training after obtaining your diploma.

Documents Required (Dutch)

You will also need to add the following documents to your application:

  • certificate of nationality (copy of an ID or a document that you can request from your municipality);
  • criminal background check;
  • copy of the diploma.

The training regulations and trainee recommendations must be signed by the trainee and mentor.

Where should I send my application?

We would appreciate you sending us your application by email in PDF format addressed to stage@ordevanarchitecten.be. The Team Stage will ensure that your application reaches the correct provincial council.

We kindly ask you to name your documents clearly, stating the name of the document, your last name, your first name and your provincial council.

On receipt, the Team Stage will assess your application. If anything is missing, we will contact you. If the application is complete, the provincial council will review your application at its next council session.

At the earliest the trainee placement can begin on the date on which the provincial council enters the trainee to the list of trainees. Make sure, therefore, to submit your application in good time. Bear in mind that the councils meet once a month.
